GENERAL INFORMATION

Range Conditions, Equipment Concerns and projected schedules:  LSC is a clean covered range that faces North with dirt berms on the North, East and West sides.  The firing points are on a concrete slab.  Wind is a factor on the range.  NRA type target frames will be used with backers.  Shooters are expected to bring large binder type clamps to hold their targets and backers.  12-clamps are recommended.  Shooters can hang their own targets but will not be able to handle their own targets once they have been fired on.  Shooters will remove the target to the right of their own after the firing period has ended and the range is cleared for down range traffic.  Bench Rest shooters can bring any rest type device that they choose as long as it does not lock the rifle to the rest and the bench/table.  Only .22-Caliber rifles will be allowed.  Only 1-Round may be loaded into the rifle at anytime.  Both the Prone and Bench Rest matches are any sight matches and iron and telescopic sights will compete against each other based on the shooter’s classification and category or entry into the Bench Rest match.  Firing positions will be assigned based on operational need.  Shooters should dress for the weather conditions and bring things to drink and eat.  Bringing portable shade for down time is encouraged.  Hopefully we will be able to give Shooters their Firing Point and Relay assignments by 8:35am and they will be able to set up their Firing Position at that time.  Shooters will have approximately 15-minutes to hang their targets down range.  Shooters will be called to the Firing Line at 8:52am and their 3-minute preparation period will begin at 8:57am.  Shooting begins at 9:00am and the awards are projected to be issued at around 2:30pm for one relay and at around 4:30pm for two relays.

Awards:  The match winner, classification and category winners will have their name and score engraved on the 2005-2006 5-match plaque located in the LSC Club House and also will receive a 1st place medal.  We will also issue medals to the 2nd and 3rd place shooters. Winners who place in more than one classification/category (match winner/juniors) will receive only one medal for their highest placing, thus vacating their lesser placing to the shooter below them i.e.: The match winner will only receive one medal.  The same logic will apply for the engraving on the plaque.  The match winner will only have their name on the plaque once for any match.  The same applies for any juniors who place in one of the classifications.  The priority will be Match Winner, Classification then Categories. The Tyro Class winner will not be noted on the plaque but medals will be issued to the Tyro Class competitor’s.  The Bench Rest match will also have a plaque and medals through 3rd place.  The Bench Rest is an open match and will not use classifications or categories.

Protest/Challenges: Shooters should advise the Range Officer as soon if they believe that their target has been fired upon by another competitor and the competitor that caused the cross fire should also alert the Range Officer as soon as they realize their error.  Those corrections will be made during the initial scoring of targets.  The Range Officer will communicate to the Statistical Director the need to make these corrections.  All other corrections will be considered and reviewed during a Protest/Challenge Period after the last set of targets has been scored for any given match and released to the shooters.  The Protest/Challenge Period will begin as soon as the targets are released to the shooters following their just completed match.  Protests/Challenges need to be referred to the Statistical Director before the 2nd Stage of the following match begins.  This should give the shooters approximately 30-Minutes to review their targets.  Targets from the match before the Aggregate Match will be released as soon as they have been scored and a final 10-minute Protest/Challenge Period will occur for those targets before that match is finaled and the Aggregate is calculated.  Challenges/Protests that require the rescoring and/or plugging of the shooters target or the review of someone else’s target will cost $3 per NRA SBR Rule 16.1.  If the Protest/Challenge is sustained, the $3 will be returned to the shooter.  Mathematical miscalculations will be re-reviewed and corrected at no charge during the same periods noted.  It is our intent to ensure that everyone receives their proper score.  Work with us on this matter.

Note: The match operators reserve the option of changing the match format to adapt to unforeseen operational needs.  Fred Manahan/Co-Match Director/Official Referee, Tim Stone/Co-Match Director/Range Officer and Frank Oliveira/Co-Match Director/Chief Statistical Officer will act as the Official Jury for protests/challenges.

Coaching: Coaching on the firing line is disallowed.  Coaching behind the firing line is allowed.  The shooter may leave his/her firing point to be coached behind the firing line.  New shooters are encouraged to ask questions of match officials at anytime to assist them through the match process.
