PROPOSED CHANGE IN CLUB POLICY

As your Board of Directors, L.S.C. has tried to provide its members with top rate facilities and amenities that enhance the shooting sports. We recently purchased four shooting blocks for the archery range that were capable of accepting broad heads and carbon arrows as a service to our members. These were stored in the range house with the target stands for all members to use. A scum-sucking, bottom-feeding ameba took them all, leaving the club members without shooting blocks. The Club has ordered replacements. They will be kept locked up and available to members only on the days that Richard is on duty. They will be checked out in the members name wishing to use them.  We realize that this is an inconvenience, but the Club cannot afford to replace stolen or vandalized property and keep the membership fees at the present rate. We strive to make this an all inclusive, low cost facility for all to use.

On the same day of the theft a fire was set on the north side of the lake. Richard returned to find it and called the Fire Dept. and proceeded to put it out. Even though it was his day off the matter was taken care of. The board will be discussing security cameras and other means of protecting the property. These items are not cheap but they have become necessary. Remember—this is your Club and the expense of these items will take away from other projects. Any member having ideas for protecting the property of the Club and its members are encouraged to present their ideas to the board, to Richard or simply send them to the Club e-mail.

Crime does not pay, but reporting it does. If you see anybody committing any kind of vandalism and you identify him or her, you will receive a free one-year membership. You may remain anonymous and your identity will only be known to us.

On a brighter note, the Club has applied for an N.R.A. grant to build a lighted Skeet-Trap range. The grants are awarded in February and we hope to be included. If approved we will need volunteers to help make this project a go. Active members will only make this a better Club.
