  • Well, it’s come to an end for another year. The annual picnic was a huge success. How about that weather? It couldn't have been better. We plan this for several months in advance and then when it's all over, we kind of miss it. We gave away a lot of prizes, of which a great number were donated by very generous businesses and individuals around the area.  Now it will be back to upgrading our club, which is what it's all about in the first place.

One thing of note:   We would like to thank the Island 4H Shooters Group who served the food. They did a fantastic job. These were some of the politest kids that we have been around. They worked hard and never complained once. They were great.

We have several things in mind for the near future. Most things this year will be bringing the club back to life. We plan on restoring the park area and upgrading our RV and trailer spots for those who wish to spend a few days. We have been working on our water supply and hopefully will have a cleaner water supply in the future. We plan on painting the buildings and planting trees around the area which will provide shade for picnicking or just laying around while the spouses do their shooting.

Our archery range, although new is going to be slightly modified to bring it up to official standards. We have also purchased archery shooting blocks which will be available for your use. In the near future we hope to add silhouette targets for the archery range.

If you get a chance, take a look at the trap range, the new grass got it's first mowing last Friday. It came in great and really looks good. We also plan on more trees out there too.

If any of you have suggestions for improving your club, comments are always welcome and are considered at the regular Board of Directors meetings.

The club is strong and with everyone's support it will remain strong for many years to come. The Board of Directors wish to thank all the members for their continued support and hope that you are enjoying the club.
